Home of the World's Largest Statue of Mary as Our Lady of Guadalupe located in Windsor, OH
It began in early 1987, when Deacon Ed and his wife Pat Heinz purchased a 120 year old farm in Windsor, Ohio. They originally planned to use their family's property as a Catholic Youth Camp, but eventually lost the farm due to financial problems in 1990.
By true divine intervention, they were able to repurchase the farm back in 1992. It was at that time that the Heinz family decided to show their faith-filled appreciation by using their property to glorify God and to share their story of faith with others. This was the beginning of The Servants of Mary Center for Peace.
We invite you to visit Servants of Mary & Our Lady of Guadalupe located in Northeastern Ohio, in the town Windsor, just 40 miles east of Cleveland. Come and feel grace that this special place has to offer you and your family.
At the center of the 50 acre Shrine located in Windsor Ohio, stands the world's largest statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Mary's likeness stands 50 feet tall and is covered by over 450,000 mosaic tiles. The design and construction of the statue was donated by Richard Hyslin of Mission, Texas. He and many of his students and other volunteers spent 10,000 hours constructing this amazing work of art.
In front of the statue lies the LAKE OF HOPE which is surrounded by the worlds largest illuminated fifteen decade rosary. At night, the view is nothing short of awe inspiring as the beads light up the rural Ohio night sky.
Along the path following the rosary, you will find the HOLY INNOCENTS CHAPEL. Inside is the Book of Life containing names of children up to seven years of age who have died due to abortion, miscarriage, or natural causes.
The Servants of Mary Center for Peace Shrine is dedicated to delivering our Lord's message through: Proclaiming the Gospel, Personal Witness, Faithful Servitude and Educating others of Mary's role as the obedient chosen, Holy Mother, leading us to God.
Here, through God given Grace, you will find peace and tranquility. Although we host the largest statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the world, The Servants of Mary is not only for Catholics and Hispanics. We welcome all denominations, all ethnicities and all those who want to see and feel what faith hope and love can accomplish.
We offer a place where spiritual enlightenment and fulfillment may be found. We unite on the basis of Christianity, that is, Jesus Christ and his teachings of faith, hope and love.
